Honoring Women

The Power Of Women

Throughout history women have fought tirelessly to provide for their families and to bring about change in their communities.  From the great conductor of the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman, who never sacrificed a passenger, to Daisy Bates who was determined to obtain a quality education, leading a movement to desegregate her high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, women have been working hard to change the status quo throughout history.  Praise and much respect to those who have sacrificed so much in the fight for Civil Rights and Women's Rights. And of course, let's not forget the women who continue to fight for equal rights today: Marian W. Edelman, Angela Davis, Beverly Bond, Tarana Burke, Erica Garner, and the women who started the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement; Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, and the list goes on.

Praise and glory to our sisters who are no longer here physically, but whose spirits and memories live on.

Thanks my sisters for sacrificing your lives to bring about change in our world. Our Legacy is to keep your spirits high by continuing the fight for freedom justice and equality. The fight continues, and will not end until all women are treated and considered equal.
